our Story

Made By Matt was founded in October of 2024 by Matt Moore. Made By Matt was an idea that was born overnight (Really over an afternoon!). Matt says it went like this....

"While working my regular 9-5 job, I had a thought one afternoon of what would it be like to start a side business? I instantly asked myself, "What can I produce with the skills and resources that I have right now in my life?" The idea of woodworking came to mind. I had always loved seeing something beautiful come to life from humble beginnings. But I didn't want to limit it to making a specific style of woodworking. I wanted something more. I wanted to start a business that would take the tiniest ideas all the way to the grandest and make them become a reality! So my idea was why not make a business that could create small decor items all the way to advising on remodeling projects! The way I see it, if it can be Made then I want want to be apart of it! So, when I got home that evening I went straight down to the basement after saying hello to my wife and made our very first product. It was simple, small, basic, but I thought that this is exactly how things are born. I made a wooden pumpkin out of some scrap wood and ran up the stairs to show my wife. She instantly thought it was cute (And I knew right then it had a chance to be something I could sell because if anyone who knows Brittany knows she doesn't fake it but is real all the time!) I told her how my afternoon had gone and how I was randomly starting this side business. Not knowing exactly how I was going to pull it off or really any details. But she instantly loved it and became my biggest supporter! And she continues to be my biggest supporter and partner in all of this!" Matt Moore- Founder of Made By Matt
